On Monday 05 January 2009, the Theophany celebrations started this year in Mar Semaan Church – Fih by the Service of the “Great Blessing of Waters” with the pre-feast Service (the day that precedes the Feast); then Jesus' baptism by St John the Baptist in the Jordan river or (Theophany or "shining forth" of God as the Holy Trinity to the world) was commemorated the next day (Tuesday 06 January 2009), and last but not least Saint John Baptist Feast was celebrated on Wednesday 07 January 2009.

Then Abouna passed by the village houses to bless them by sprinkling holy water and chanting, “When you, O Lord, were baptized in the Jordan, the worship of the Trinity was made manifest".
